History
Beginning
In January 2009, Randal Baker - a southeastern billionaire - struck a deal with the owners of the three major wrestling promotions in the United States: Vince McMahon of WWE; Dixie Carter of TNA; and Cary Silkin of ROH. For a substantial sum of money, Baker was given the rights to sign any number of wrestlers, referees and other talents that he found necessary. Baker struck deals with a number of talent and announced that the HWL would broadcast it's first show - on the G4 Network - that summer.
Rebirth
After the HWL disbanded due to a lack of funds - and shutting down in October 2009 - the company was brought back to life by a wealthy British business owner named Peter Bradshaw. Bradshaw purchased the rights for the HWL from Randall Baker and announced that the company would be making a return in the Spring of 2010.
On April 5, 2010, the HWL returned to live television with "Monday Night Anarchy" from its original home in Nashville, Tennessee. The first pay-per-view event under Bradshaw's helm - Rebellion, on April 25th - saw Desmond Wolfe defeat "The Big Red Machine" Kane for the HWL Heavyweight Title.

Development
In September 2009, the HWL struck a deal with London-based Premier English Wrestling. The deals made the PEW the official developmental promotion for HWL. The PEW goal is to get athletes prepared for the rigorous life in the HWL.
In July 2010, Peter Bradshaw announced that he would be re-introducing the old Premiere English Wrestling organization. However, since his interests were now in the U.S., he had no use to keep the company in England. Thus, he announced the renaming of the company to "Premiere Championship Wrestling", which would be used as a training ground for up-and-comers hoping to catch on with the Horizon Wrestling League. The PCW shows would begin airing on August 10, 2010, and Bradshaw announced that he would bring this new roster on the road as well, playing smaller venues around the world.
