Bayley vs. Nikki Bella

It has been a while – nearly two months – since we last saw Bayley, the up-start independent circuit darling in a PCW ring. It’s been equally as long since Nikki Bella has graced PCW with her presence; but she has certainly been busy, going off and becoming HWL Woman’s Champion before losing it just a number of days ago. Bayley caught Nikki by surprise in this match, having obviously worked on her in-ring skills during her time away, as she nearly upset the former champion. However, Nikki was able to block Bayley’s attempted guillotine choke and work herself into position before hitting the Bella Buster for the 1-2-3.

Nikki Bella pinned Bayley with the Bella Buster in 4:09.

Commercial Break

Returning from the break, Rhett Titus and Kenny King are seen walking into Commissioner Rex Butler’s office. Titus and King say they want to finish things with the Bravado Brothers, and they want a title match next week. Butler says that Titus and King have some nerve demanding a match against a team they essentially helped win. Since Butler believes in “fairness”, he agrees to giving them their title match, but says that it will be a Triple Threat Match. Butler says that Jay Lethal and Wade Barrett will have a chance to win back their titles at the August Special Event as well. Butler tells King that he should head to the ring, because his match is happening… now.

Kenny King vs. Hornswoggle

Just moments after finding out that he would be competing in a Triple Threat Match for the Tag Team Titles, Kenny King came to the ring expecting to face another participant in next week’s title match. However, he was delighted to see HORNSWOGGLE make his way to the ring as Lethal’s replacement. King was momentarily taken off his game, having psyched himself to face Lethal, but he quickly gained control of the match. King took his time, toying with Hornswoggle, much to the dismay of the fans. After a few minutes, King connected with a very harsh-looking spinning heel kick for the 1-2-3.

Kenny King pinned Hornswoggle after a spinning heel kick in 5:40.

After the match, King grabbed Hornswoggle and tossed him through the ropes, sending him crashing down onto the concrete at ringside. King left the ring, to a chorus of boss, as the show went to commercials.

Commercial Break

Bobby Roode vs. Kaz

Two weeks ago, during the Special Event, Bobby Roode and James Storm were eliminated from contention for the Tag Team Titles. Tonight, sitting in the back, Roode and Storm heard that they would not be a part of the Triple Threat Match at the up-coming Special Event in August. All of this combined was enough fuel for Roode to come out tonight and make short work of Kaz. Roode needed just over six minutes to hit the Payoff and pick up a victory here tonight.

Bobby Roode pinned Kaz with the Payoff in 6:07.
Rating: ** ½

Backstage, Brooke Barlow is seen with the Tag Team Champions, Harlem and Lance Bravado. Brooke asks for comments on the match that Commission Rex Butler signed earlier in the evening. Lance says that the odds have been stacked against he and Harlem since they first stepped foot in PCW, and that August 11th Is not going to be any different. Harlem says he and Lance shocked the world by winning the Tag Team Titles, and they’re going to shock it again after they retain them.

James Westerfield says that Rob Terry recorded a message to The Big Show earlier today before showing the footage. In it, Terry is seen backstage. He says that big men are hard to come by in this business; that they are very rare. Tonight, two of PCW’s biggest men will step in the ring to see who’s better. Terry says that he is going to give The Big Show a challenge unlike any other… and an upset.

Commercial Break

Returning from the break, the announcers recap the segment that opened the show between The Big Show and Heavyweight Champion Claudio Castagnoli. They also announce the matches that have been signed for the Special Event – “Battle at the Bay” – Television Champion Chris Hero will defend the belt against The Great Khali; The Bravado Brothers will defend the Tag Team Titles in a Triple Threat Match against The All-Night Express and former champions Jay Lethal and Wade Barrett; and, in the main event, Claudio Castagnoli puts the Heavyweight Title on the line against former champion The Big Show.

Rob Terry vs. The Big Show

It had been a frustrating evening for The Big Show – starting from the top of the show. It’s been clear ever since he won the Heavyweight Title, that Claudio Castagnoli was going to be a thorn in the big man’s side. Things didn’t get much better when Rob Terry claimed he would upset Show tonight. When the match started, it was what you’d expect from a battle of big men… both of them jockeying for position, any advantage they could find. Much to the shock of the audience, Big Rob got the upper hand and stayed on The Big Show. Terry went against his own usual judgment and did whatever he could to keep The Big Show on the ground. Show would push off and get back to his feet, but Terry would knock him down again. This continued, but it became clear that Terry would not be able to out The Big Show away unless trying something different. SHANE HAGADORN and CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI made their way to the ring. Hagadorn was carrying a chair, and he offered it to Terry. Terry shook his head and backed away, directly into a Choke Slam by The Big Show!

The Big Show pinned Rob Terry after a Choke Slam in 8:05.

After the match, The Big Show stood over Terry and screamed at Hagadorn and Castagnoli as they made their way up the ramp. The show goes off the air with Big Show standing tall in the center of the ring.
