”Welcome to Reality” blares throughout the arena as Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome everyone to The Meadowlands. Eight huge matches are scheduled for tonight, including a Triple Threat Match for the HWL Heavyweight Title. The camera pans over to the ring for the opening contest.

Jack Swagger (0-1) vs. The Great Khali (0-0)
The Great Khali made his in-ring debut tonight in East Rutherford, taking on Swagger who was looking to pick up his first win of the season at the expense of the Punjabi Giant. Swagger is a big, tough individual and has a vast background in mat wrestling. However, those skills proved inefficient against the seven-foot Khali. Despite Swagger’s best efforts, a massive right hook to the jaw knocked him out long enough for Khali to pick up the victory.

The Great Khali pinned Jack Swagger after a punch to the face in 10:04.

Women’s Champion Brie Bella, in her ring attire, holding the Women’s Championship over her shoulder, is seen with Alisha Hicks backstage. Alisha asks what has been going through Brie’s mind ever since Leva Bates attacked her and issued her challenge for the Women’s Title. Brie says that she and Leva were, what she believed, were best friends. Brie imagined herself as a sort of mentor to Leva, showing her what needs to be done in order to become a champion and keep it. But, something must have changed for Leva. Maybe she was jealous of Brie’s success. Maybe she wanted to try to get this title without anyone’s help. Brie says the reasoning doesn’t matter because, no matter what, Leva stabbed her in the back. And, for that, Brie promises to make Leva her bitch!

HWL Women’s Title Match
Leva Bates (1-1) vs. © Brie Bella (4-0)

These two women have gotten to know each other, in all good and bad ways, over the past few months. After turning her back on Brie, Leva was looking to use what she’d learned against her former friend and dethrone the Women’s Champion. In the comments made before this match, Brie made her intensions very clear, that Leva was no longer an ally, but the worst kind of foe. Leva tried everything she could to defeat Brie but couldn’t get the job done. After the referee went to the canvas after an errant right hand, Leva slid outside the ring and brought the title belt back, looking to use it as a weapon. Brie ducked the shot and dropkicked Leva. With the referee still down, Brie grabbed the title and smashed it across Leva’s head before throwing the belt outside the ring. Brie made the cover just as the referee was coming to, and after a slow three-count, was announced the winner!

[HWL Women’s Title Match]:
Brie Bella pinned Leva Bates after hitting her with the title belt in 7:22.
Rating: 2.25
(Brie Bella retained the HWL Women’s Title.)

Commercial Break – An advertisement for the upcoming HWL PPV event, TURNING POINT.

Returning from the break, a pre-recorded video shows EDDIE EDWARDS in a short-sleeved shirt and jeans, standing outside the IZOD Center earlier in the day. Edwards said that tonight will be the end of his feud with Brutus Magnus; something that started all because Magnus needed a steel chair to beat him in a match. Over that time, they’ve been disrupting each other’s matches and really just staying even; no one getting the upper hand. That all changed on Monday night when Magnus’ interference led to Edwards picking up a victory. Edwards thanked Magnus for helping him gain that victory and wondered if tonight would be the beginning a nice little winning streak.

Eddie Edwards (1-5) vs. Brutus Magnus (2-1)
Eddie Edwards was nowhere to be seen after being introduced. A shot from backstage showed Edwards being tended to by HWL officials after an apparent attack on his way to the ring. Magnus’ music played as he made his way to the ring. Magnus hoped they could find whoever was behind Eddie’s attack were found, but since he was prepared for a match, he wouldn’t be leaving until he got one. The open invitation was answered by JESSE NEAL, who was looking at his first action in a number of weeks. However, being unprepared to wrestle, Neal had a hard time garnering any offense against Magnus, who hit the Mag Daddy Driver for the victory.

Brutus Magnus pinned Jesse Neal with the Mag Daddy Driver in 12:13.

Backstage, AJ STYLES and KOFI KINGSTON are seen in their ring attires, holding the Tag Team Titles over their shoulders. They congratulated Colt Cabana and Edwin Colon for finally getting one over on them on Monday night. Thanks to them, Styles and Kingston were given their first loss since teaming up. But they both admit that it was bound to happen. And they take solace in knowing that it wasn’t because of a mistake they made. They’ve grown to learn that any mistake could cost them the Tag Team Titles. That’s why tonight, instead of worrying about Cabana and Colon, they were going to worry about Alex Riley and Chris Hero and defending the Tag Team Titles one more time.

Commercial Break

HWL Tag Team Title Match
Alex Riley & Chris Hero (4-1) vs. © AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston (3-1)

Last month, at Rebellion, Alex Riley and Chris Hero had a shot at the Tag Team Titles snatched from their grasps when Colt Cabana and Edwin Colon interfered in the match, attacking the champions. Since that night, Riley and Hero fought every week in the hopes of getting a second chance to win the titles. For Styles and Kingston, they continued to deal with Cabana and Colon, who were ultimately responsible for their first loss since winning the Titles last week on Anarchy. With the loss fresh on their minds, it seemed like a great opportunity for Riley and Hero and walk away with the titles, but Styles and Kingston have continued to show their resiliency when it mattered most. Tonight, they were able to pick up the victory and continue their impressive reign as champions.

AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston defeated Alex Riley & Chris Hero when Styles pinned Riley with the Styles Clash in 21:41.

Backstage, HWL Heavyweight Champion JOHN CENA walked into arena and was met by Alisha Hicks. Cena looked disgusted, shaking his head, as Alisha asked about Jay Briscoe having won his way into the title match tonight. Cena said that Briscoe had been getting on his last nerve ever since he came back to the main roster; but, after tonight, Briscoe would no longer be an issue for Cena. He tapped the title belt on his shoulder and smiled before walking away.

Kazarian (1-0) vs. Claudio Castagnoli (w/Shane Hagadorn) (2-4)
Monday night on Anarchy, Kazarian picked up his first single’s victory, defeating Eddie Edwards. Looking to keep that streak alive, he stepped into the ring with Claudio Castagnoli, who gave the crowd quite the shock as he made his way to the ring followed by Shane Hagadorn. There are obvious questions surrounding this newfound partnership, but from the looks of things tonight, everyone was clearly on the same page. Hagadorn had no issues interfering on behalf of “The Swiss Superman”, even putting his foot on the ropes to break up a three-count. The assist was the last straw for Kazarian, as he went to the ropes and began to share words with Hagadorn. This allowed Castagnoli to roll Kazarian up, and while grabbing a handful of trunks, for the three! After the match, Castagnoli rolled out of the ring, celebrating with Hagadorn.

Claudio Castagnoli pinned Kazarian after a roll-up in 13:27.

Backstage, Matt Morgan is asked why he interfered against Colt Cabana and Edwin Colon two weeks ago on Anarchy, prompting their upcoming match tonight. Morgan said that it was only fitting for Cabana and Colon to get a taste of their own medicine. Week after week, Morgan had to sit by and watch Cabana and Colon stick their noses where they didn’t belong, and it was only a matter of time before it backfired on them. Morgan said that tonight is that night before introducing his tag team partner, Rob Terry! The two men shook hands before heading off.

Colt Cabana & Edwin Colon (1-2) vs. Matt Morgan & Rob Terry (1-0)
Cabana and Colon asked for this match, Monday night, after Morgan interfered in their match the week before. After Morgan revealed that Rob Terry would be his partner, the question was: Did Cabana and Colon bite off more than they could chew? Things appeared to be going their way after Cabana rammed Terry’s back into the steel barricade at ringside. Terry would show signs of some sort of injury throughout the match. Morgan evened things up for his team, giving Terry time to recover. Despite their best efforts, Cabana and Colon were unable to get much more offense in for most of the match. Morgan tagged Terry back into the ring and, still showing signs of his injury, hit the Freakbuster on Colon to pick up the victory. After the match, however, Cabana snuck around the ring and hit Morgan with a low-blow, incapacitating him on the concrete floor. Cabana slid into the ring and attacked Terry’s back, inflicting more damage. Cabana was able to pull Colon out of the ring and walk up the aisle defiantly.

Matt Morgan & Rob Terry defeated Colt Cabana & Edwin Colon when Terry pinned Colon with the Freakbuster in 8:17. **Rob Terry suffered a back injury and will be out for 2 weeks
Rating: 2.25**

Backstage, X-Division Champion Kevin Steen was alone, pacing back and forth before looking into the camera. He said that its funny how, more often than not, life seems to repeat itself. The same routine, day in and day out, gets boring for Steen. You can call it karmic or completely random, but time after time the same people continue to come into your life for one reason or another. He said that’s exactly what is happening tonight because, once again, he is having to defend his title against Adam Cole. Steen gives Cole credit for clawing his way back into the contender’s spot but promised that the results were going to be exactly the same.

Another commercial for HWL’s next pay-per-view – TURNING POINT – is shown.

X-Division Title Match
Adam Cole (3-3) vs. © Kevin Steen (2-1)

After losing in his last bid for the X-Division Title, Adam Cole fought for the right to challenge for one more time, tonight in New Jersey. There is no love lost between Cole and Steen, especially after the battle they had last month at Rebellion. Tonight, both men took things to another level, battling all over the ringside area. Cole planted Steen with a DDT on the top of the announce table, breaking it, but was not able to put the champion away. Steen struggled to come back in this match, but after shoving Cole into the referee, and thanks to a low blow, he regained the advantage. Steen worked over Cole as the referee got to his feet before hitting a Package Piledriver for a two-count. Bringing the match back outside the ring, Steen whipped Cole into the ring post before hitting a second Package Piledriver onto the concrete floor. Cole barely got his shoulder up before the three-count, shocking Steen. Furious, Steen grabbed a steel chair and cracked it over Cole’s head before covering before covering him for the 1-2-3.

[X-Division Title Match]:
Kevin Steen pinned Adam Cole after hitting him with a chair in 23:26.
Rating: 4.75

(Kevin Steen retained the X-Division Title.)

A video is shown of Randy Orton being interviewed by Alisha Hicks earlier in the evening. Orton tells Alisha that he made his comments very clear on Monday night but says again that John Cena is in the worst possible position. Orton says that people know how these matches work, and it’s easy to see that both himself and Briscoe – who shouldn’t even be in this match – have the easiest path to the title.

Orton gets cut off as Jay Briscoe walks up to him. Briscoe says that Orton might not be happy that he’s in the match, but Briscoe has every right to be here. He says that the way things look, he has the advantage over Orton because Briscoe has already pinned Cena once before. Tonight, though, all he has to do is pin Orton, if the chance arises, and Briscoe will walk away with the Heavyweight Title.

Triple Threat Match for HWL Heavyweight Title
Jay Briscoe (5-1) vs. Randy Orton (2-1) vs. © John Cena (1-3)

After surviving an incredibly brutal series of matches against CM Punk at Rebellion, John Cena found himself defending the Heavyweight Title in a match that certainly does not go in his favor. Jay Briscoe has been on a tear since returning to the main roster full-time picking up three straight wins before losing his title shot to Randy Orton a couple weeks back. Briscoe was able to avenge that loss, defeating Cena in order to be added into this match. Orton has played the role of spoiler in the past few weeks, interjecting himself into the title picture, successfully, and earning another shot at the Heavyweight Title. After a grueling match, that lasted over 30 minutes, with all three men beating the hell out of each other, Cena hit Briscoe with the F-U in the center of the ring. Orton, taking advantage of the opportunity, grabbed Cena by the trunks and tossed him outside the ring. With not other obstacles in sight, Orton covered Briscoe for the 1-2-3 to become the NEW Heavyweight Champion!
