May 29, 2012 - PCW Wrestling - Little Rock, AR

Barton Coliseum – Little Rock, Arkansas
Attendance: 2,798 (39%)

Alfred Pressley and James Westerfield welcome everyone to Little Rock, where tonight, the number one contenders will be determined for the Women’s, Television, and Tag Team Titles at next week’s special two-hour event. Tonight, Leva Bates takes on Kelly Kelly; The Bravado Brothers face Beer Money; and Alex Payne versus Jeremy Buck.

Commissioner Rex Butler comes out to the ring to open the show. Butler says that he has been brain-storming some ideas, over the past few weeks, that he thinks would shake up the world of wrestling. Butler says he wants the PCW to break ground – do things that others wouldn’t think of doing. Butler says they’re already doing that, by having two women step into the ring – with a title on the line – in tonight’s main event. But, Butler says he has big plans for next week’s two-hour event; and they all concern the PCW Heavyweight Championship. Butler says that, next week, six men will be competing for the chance to face The Big Show for the title. There will be three qualifying matches to start off the show, followed by a Triple Threat Match to determine the new number one contender. Butler announces the matches for next week: Chris Hero vs. David Otunga; Claudio Castagnoli vs. James Storm; and Cody Rhodes vs. Kenny King. Butler thanks the fans and leaves the ring.

Number One Contenders’ Match
Kelly Kelly vs. Leva Bates

Even though both Vixens came up short a week ago, in their bids to take part in the Women’s Title Match tonight, they were given a chance to challenge the winner, next week, during the two-hour special. Leva Bates came out firing on all cylinders, and picked up a very quick victory after hitting a Yakuza kick for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Leva celebrates in the ring, as the show goes to commercials.

Commercial Break

Returning from the break, a vignette is shown of the The Bravado Brothers announcing that they are ready to become the next PCW Tag Team Champions.

Backstage, Brooke Barlow asks Chris Hero about the possibility of facing Claudio Castagnoli next week during the two-hour special. Hero pauses for a moment, before saying that he had warned Claudio, for weeks, not to be brainwashed by that scheming liar, Shane Hagadorn. But, because he didn’t listen – and because he caused them to lose the Tag Team Titles last week – Hero says he’d give up everything he owned to have Castagnoli in the ring next week.

Number One Contenders Match
The Bravado Brothers vs. Beer Money

The Bravado Brothers have been out of the Tag Team Title picture for little while, as Lance found himself in the middle of a heated battle for the Television Title. But now, with the Tag Team division turning into a shell of what it used to be, they joined back together to take on Beer Money – multi-time champions in their own right. In what many are calling an upset, The Bravados picked up the win after Harlem hit the “X Marks the Spot” on Robert Roode.

The Bravado Brothers (Harlem & Lance) defeated Beer Money, Inc. (James Storm & Robert Roode) when Harlem pinned R. Roode with the X Marks The Spot in 5:51.

After the match, Harlem and Lance celebrated in the center of the ring, it’s announced that they will face Jay Lethal and Wade Barrett, for the title, next week.

Backstage, Brooke Barlow asks Taylor Wilde how she feels to be challenging for the Women’s Title later tonight. Wilde says she came out of retirement when Rex Butler and Peter Bradshaw called to offer her a spot in the tournament. Wilde says she jumped at the chance to become the PCW’s first-ever Women’s Champion.

Commercial Break

Returning from the break, a vignette from earlier in the day is shown of Alex Payne. Payne says that he has been waiting for his chance to prove to everyone that he is capable of being a champion in the PCW. With Rex Butler adding him to the Television Title Number One Contenders’ Match, it shows that Butler has been paying attention to what Payne can do inside the ring.

Backstage, Brooke Barlow is with Beth Phoenix. Phoenix says she has made a name for herself in wrestling over the years. She says she has dominated women’s wrestling all over the world. Phoenix says that winning the Women’s Title tonight would just be another box to check, and another highlight to add to her list of accomplishments.

Television Title Number One Contenders’ Match
Alex Payne vs. Rhett Titus

Based on his comments from earlier in the day, Alex Payne had a plan to become the new Number One Contender for the Television Title. Those plans seemed to have changed when Rhett Titus came down to the ring instead of Jeremy Buck, who was Payne’s scheduled opponent. Whatever game plan Payne had fell to the wayside as his survival instincts kicked in. Payne’s new tactics worked at the beginning, but Titus was able to slow the match down – much more to his liking – and take control. Titus connected with a double underhook suplex for the victory, to become the new challenger for the Television Title!

Rhett Titus pinned Alex Payne after a double underhook suplex in 5:05.

Backstage, Brooke Barlow is seen with Claudio Castagnoli and Shane Hagadorn. Hagadorn says that there isn’t a man that Rex Butler named that has what it takes to beat Claudio, now that he’s unwilling to be held down any longer. Hagadorn says that, all Claudio needed, was a tutor – someone to point him in the right direction, and give him the tools he needed to succeed. He says that person was not Chris Hero. And, speaking of Chris Hero, Hagadorn says that Hero can give up everything he owns in the hopes of stepping into the ring with Claudio next week. But, if he does so, when the match his over, Chris Hero will be penniless, begging for scraps, and can watch Claudio become the new PCW Heavyweight Champion from his cot in a homeless shelter.

Match for Vacant Women’s Title
Taylor Wilde vs. Beth Phoenix

The culmination of the two-week tournament, to crown the first-ever PCW Women’s Champion, took place in the first all-female main even in the company’s history tonight. Taylor Wilde and Beth Phoenix fought their way to this point, all for the chance to be the leader of a new women’s division, and to say that they were the absolute best. Both women have a history of championship gold in the industry, and they held nothing back in this match. Taylor started off the match with a flurry of offense, but Beth took control after catching Taylor off guard with a DDT. The match went outside the ring to occasions, as each woman was trying to use the ringside area to their advantage; ultimately, Beth was able to do so, rolling Taylor into the ring after whipping her into the guardrail. Beth continued to work over Taylor, before hitting the Glam Slam for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Beth is awarded the Title, as the announcers give her praise. Beth falls to her knees, clutching the title belt to her chest, and tears can be seen on her cheeks. Beth gets to her feet, and sees Leva Bates making her way down to the ring, smiling and applauding. Beth quickly wipes away the tears, bracing for a fight, as Bates enters the ring and stands across from Beth. Leva extends her hand, and offers congratulations to Beth for her victory. Reluctantly, Beth shakes Leva’s hand. Leva leaves the ring, heading back up the aisle, and the show goes off the air, showing Beth in the center of the ring.
