October 8, 2012 - Monday Night Anarchy - Richmond, VA

Announcers: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels
Attendance: 5,516

The show starts with Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle coming out to the ring. Angle says that in six days he will step into the ring with Chris Hero and teach this “kid” a lesson he’ll never forget. Angle says he’s been getting a lot of public hate since last week. People saying he had no right to interfere in last week’s main event. Angle says that, as the Heavyweight Champion, he can do whatever he damn well pleases. This brings out CHRIS HERO. Hero says that this is an example of Angle bullying his way into things and, for that reason, Angle should not be Heavyweight Champion. Hero promises to do everything he can on Sunday night to take that title away. Angle looks poised to hit Hero but gets interrupted as PETER BRADSHAW appears on-stage. Bradshaw reminds both men that their match will not be spoiled before Sunday night. He also reminds Angle that, tonight, he will be in the main event against Randy Orton.

Commercial Break

Adam Cole pinned Tyson Kidd after a Northern Lights suplex in 10:55.
Rating: *** ¼

Matt Sydal was at ringside for this match, just six days from facing Adam Cole at Downfall. Cole was looking to pick up a much-needed victory heading into the PPV, and he got one hell of a match out of Tyson Kidd. The fans were fully engaged in this high-speed contest, which saw a number of near falls. Cole surprised Kidd with a quick Northern Lights suplex and was seen pulling Kidd’s trunks while getting the pinfall. After the match, Cole left the ring and confronted Sydal at ringside. Cole told Sydal that he’d see him on Sunday night before walking away.

Commercial Break

Returning from the break, a video shot earlier in the day is shown. It shows Women’s Champion Kaitlyn approaching ODB and thanking her for having her back tonight. ODB says that it’s nothing and that Brie Bella will learn not to stick her nose in a bitch’s business.

ODB & Kaitlyn defeated Leva Bates & Brie Bella when Kaitlyn pinned B. Bella after a spear in 5:43.
Rating: ¼*

It was obvious from the moment they arrived at the ring, that OBD and Kaitlyn were quite the intimidating force. ODB and Kaitlyn worked well as a team, whereas on the other side, it looked like Leva wanted Brie to do all the heavy lifting. Brie took the fall after a spear from Kaitlyn for the 1-2-3. After the match, Leva jumped off the apron, and Kaitlyn stood in the middle of the ring, raising her title in the air. In six days they meet with the title on the line!

Commercial Break

Eric Young & Ted DiBiase defeated Ink Inc. (Jesse Neal & Shannon Moore) when DiBiase pinned S. Moore with the Dream Street in 16:52.
Rating: *** ½

Last week saw the return of Jesse Neal from an injury suffered at the hands of Ted DiBiase a month ago, as he came to the aid of his tag partner Shannon Moore. Tonight, they teamed up to take on DiBiase and Eric Young, who debuted last week. In a hard-hitting match, both teams gave everything they had. The crowd anticipated every time that DiBiase and Neal got in the ring, as it was announced that they will be facing each other this Sunday at Downfall. DiBiase came out on top tonight, hitting the Dream Street on Moore to pick up the victory.

Commercial Break

Shane Hagadorn leads Claudio Castagnoli and Steve Corino to the ring as we come back from the break. Hagadorn says that last week, the actions of his men should have sent a message to every tag team in the back, especially the Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston. Hagadorn says there’s power in numbers, and that leaving your partner alone – at any point – puts them at risk of winding up just like Styles and Kingston did last week. This brings out the Tag Team Champions, who come down to the ring. No words are exchanged, as all four men begin brawling in the ring! HWL officials rush down, attempting to break up the melee. PETER BRADSHAW once again comes out to the stage and announces that tonight, the four men in the ring will face each other, but with one difference. The Independents will team up with Rami Sebei and the champions will team up with Brutus Magnus. A six-man tag match is next!

Commercial Break

AJ Styles, Kofi Kingston, and Brutus Magnus defeated The Independents (Claudio Castagnoli & Steve Corino) and Rami Sebei when K. Kingston pinned C. Castagnoli after a flying legdrop in 9:04.
Rating: *** ¾

The tension between these three men is clearly at a fever pitch! Peter Bradshaw had no option but to sign this match before someone got hurt tonight, and it doesn’t seem like anything has cooled down afterward. There is still a lot of heat heading into Downfall in six days. Kingston shocked “Double C” with the flying legdrop, and Styles and Magnus cleared the ring as the referee made the three count. After the match, Hagadorn and his boys were irate, claiming that things were far from being over.

Commercial Break

X-Division Champion Kevin Steen walks through the backstage area, heading toward the ring when he sees Alex Riley. Steen asks how it feels to have choked last week against Martin Maldonado, before laughing. Steen puts his hands up to this throat and pretends to be choking as he walks off. Riley is shown fuming as we go to ringside.

Non-Title Match

Rating: *** ¼

Kevin Steen picks up a huge victory over the PCW Heavyweight Champion tonight; a win he needed heading into his match against Alex Riley this Sunday night.

Commercial Break

A final preview is shown for Downfall, as “Tempest” plays in the background.

Non-Title Match
Randy Orton pinned Kurt Angle with the RKO in 14:11.
Rating: *** ¾

Chris Hero was at ringside for tonight’s main event, which turned into a bloody brawl between two men who have a long history with each other. As both men made their way outside the ring, it looked like this match would end in a count out. But the match continued after they found their way back into the ring, blood spilling from both their faces. The end saw Angle attempt to put Orton in a sleeper hold, but The Viper struck with an RKO in the center of the ring for a shocking upset! After the match, Orton posed in the corners and shared a stare with Hero at the announce table.

Card Rating: *** ¼
